Glencoe Orbital Track

You can set off on foot from Fern Villa Guest House to the start of the Glencoe Orbital Track which starts in Glencoe Village.  Or can park in the public car park in the village.

If starting in Glencoe Village the walk is 12.75km/8 miles and will take approximately 2.5 hours.  It is also suitable for bikes.

Walk up the main street and cross over the bridge, take the turning on the left signposted Glencoe Lochan and then go almost immediately to the right, you will see the signpost.

On the way you will get views of the Pap of Glencoe on your left.  Further on to the right is Torren Lochan, which was the site of Hagrid's hut from the Harry Potter films.  It's a very pretty spot with stunning views up Glen Coe.

Continuing on walk past the Clachaig Inn, or better still drop in for a drink and a bite to eat.

The track now turns back to the right and has a Glencoe sign.  You can divert in to see Signal Rock or continue on. Or you might want to cross the A82, to see Loch Achtriochtan and views down the glen.  Please take great care crossing the road.

From Signal Rock the track continues alongside the A82 and drops down to pass under the road.  Continue on until you reach the NTS Glencoe Visitor Centre, well worth a visit.

The path continues on alongside the A82 and you will reach a petrol station and a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights to get you safely across the road. And you are back at Glencoe Village.
