Booking Terms and Conditions

Cancellation Policy

  • If you need to cancel your reservation more than 7 days before the date of your expected arrival no charge will be made
  • If the booking is cancelled 7 days or less before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount is payable*
  • If after arrival or less than 7 days before arrival you need to shorten your length of stay then a charge equal to the full booking amount is payable.*
  • In the case of a no-show, then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. We will take payment from the card you used when making the booking.
  • If we have to cancel for any reason no charge will be made.
  • If you need to cancel part of your stay which was booked under a minimum night stay a refund may not be possible.
Cancellations must be made in writing to ghfernvilla@gmail.com.  Or by replying to the messages you received to confirm your booking. Please do not consider your booking cancelled until you receive an email/message confirmation from ourselves.

*Please consider taking out travel insurance in order to claim any costs for cancelled bookings outside of the free cancellation period*

Payment due before arrival

We will send you a secure payment link, through Stripe,  7 days before your arrival. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To accomplish this, Stripe use the best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain a high level of security. If you prefer you can pay by BACS or cash please let us know. Sorry we do not accept cheques.

Checking In/Out

Prior to arrival we will send you an on-line registration form for you to complete. Check in time is between 4.00pm and 8.00pm, this allows us time to clean the rooms as well as run any errands. Please be aware that if you arrive early without prior notification you might not be able to gain access. Check out time is by 10.30am. You are welcome, however, to leave your bags with us if for example you are travelling by public transport and you want to go out for a walk.

Do you have any dietary requirements?

If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know at time of booking. Some items can be bought in the local shop otherwise we will need to pick them up when shopping in Oban or Fort William.

Do you have any allergies?

If you have any allergies please let us know at time of booking.

Maximum Occupants

Our rooms take a maximum of two persons.  We cannot accommodate extra adults, children or babies sharing beds with adults or in a travel cot. This is due to health and safety and fire regulations and stipulations in our insurance policy.   If you arrive with additional adults or children/babies we reserve the right to cancel your reservation and the full cost of the booking will be payable.

Children/Babies

Please send us an email with your requirements and we will advise if we have suitable availability in separate rooms or for one adult and one child in a room.  If you arrive with extra adults, children or babies without notification we reserve the right to cancel your reservation and the full cost of the booking will be payable.  This is due to health and safety and fire regulations and stipulations in our insurance policy.

Parking

We have enough parking for 1 vehicle per room.  There are 4 spaces opposite the house and 1 to the side of the house.

WiFi

We offer free WiFi.

Pets

We are sorry but we are unable to accept visiting pets. Assistance dogs are welcome along with their well behaved family.

To do this, Stripe uses best-in-class security tools and techniques to maintain a high level of security. With this platform, it is possible to buy Viagra online at a very good price.

We do have small dogs of our own who very occasionally may be in the common areas of the Guest House.  Occasionally our family may be visiting with their dogs.

Smoking

Fern Villa operates a no-smoking and no-vaping policy.

Travel Tip

If you are only staying for a short stay in a certain place, why not use an overnight bag which will save you from lugging your big cases in and out each day. Please consider taking out Travel Insurance so that you are covered should you need to cancel your stay with us after the free cancellation period has passed.

Accessibility

Our Guest House is not suitable for people with mobility difficulties. Assistance dogs are welcome along with their well behaved family.

Baggage Transfer Service

If you are using a baggage transfer service, for example if walking the West Highland Way, please could you let us know in advance so that we know to expect a drop off/pick up and we can then ensure someone is in for the handover of the bags.

Polite Requests

We know that most of our guests will respect our home, however sadly there are a few people who don’t and we have had to make several expensive replacements over the years as a result.  We don’t want to put up too many signs around the house so our requests are listed here:
  • Please remove wet or muddy footwear in the lobby and leave on boot rack. If they are particularly wet we can put them in the drying room for you.
  • Don’t hang up wet clothes in your bedroom, please bring them to the kitchen door and we will hang them up in the drying room for you.
  • Please don’t eat food in your room, just ask us and we will set up a table for you in the Breakfast Room.  Or there are picnic tables in the Shinty Park opposite the house or in the Quarry if the weather is fine.
  • Please use the coasters in the room and don’t put drinks etc directly onto the furniture.
  • Out of respect to other guests please keep the noise to a minimum before 7.00am and after 10.00pm.
  • Fern Villa has a no smoking and no vaping policy.
  • Any damage caused by not following these requests will be chargeable.

Telephone and Email Bookings Terms and Conditions

If you have not booked on line then an amount equal to 50% of the cost of your stay is payable at the time of booking.  We will send you a payment link. Please pay within 48 hours of  receiving your confirmation. If payment is not received within 48 hours we will send you a cancellation confirmation. The full amount is due 7 days before the arrival date, you will be sent a payment link for the balance. If you need to cancel your reservation 7 days or less before the date of your expected arrival any money paid will not be refundable. If you need to cancel your reservation more than 7 days before the date of your expected arrival any money paid will be refunded less any bank charges

Please note our rooms are for a maximum of 2 people only, we can not accommodate extra adults, children or babies in our rooms due to health and safety and fire regulations and our insurance stipulations.
