Breakfast at Fern Villa

We have changed how we run our breakfast service :

There will be 2 breakfast sittings at Fern Villa – 7.30am – 8.15am and 8.30am – 9.15am. Please adhere to these time slots to allow for social distancing and cleaning between sittings.
Some choices may be subject to availability.


Slow Cooked Hamlyns Oatmeal Porridge made with full fat milk (please ask if you’d prefer it made with water or a dairy alternative).

Our own recipe Bircher Muesli – maybe better known as overnight soaked oats.

Self Service items are to be pre ordered:

  • Selection of cereal (ask what is available)
  • Yoghurts (ask what flavours are available)
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Mixed Tinned breakfast fruits – e.g. grapefruit, mandarin, apricots
  • Fruit Juice

Followed by a choice of Fern Villa's freshly cooked breakfast options

  • Our Butcher’s own Dry Cured Back Bacon
  • Our Butcher’s own Pork Sausage
  • Free Range Eggs
  • Grilled Tomato
  • Naughty but nice Mushrooms sauteed in butter
  • Stornoway Black Pudding
  • McSweens Breakfast Haggis (just like normal haggis but comes in a slice)
  • Baked Beans

Select From :

  • A Loch Fyne Kipper (a whole smoked herring)
  • Free Range Eggs
  • Naughty but nice Mushrooms sauteed in butter
  • Grilled Tomato


Choice 3

Select From :

  • Toasted Bagel
  • With either Cream Cheese or Scrambled Egg
  • Smoked Salmon

Vegetarian and Vegan Breakfasts

Please advise at the time of booking if you would like a Vegetarian or Vegan Breakfast.
All breakfasts are accompanied by a pot of tea, cafetiere of coffee or a hot chocolate, toast, butter, jam and marmalade.

Occasionally we may have to substitute some items from our menu due to availability.

We are delighted to have achieved Visit Scotland’s Taste our Best accreditation as recognition of our sourcing policy and the quality of food we provide at breakfast.

We take pride in using quality produce and showcasing some of the best local and Scottish Food producers in the breakfast we prepare. Scotland’s food comes from unspoilt habitats and varied weather, which are perfect for producing a wide variety of high quality fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, meat and much more.
