Breakfast is served between 7.30am and 8.45am :

Choose from our 4 breakfast options for meat and fish lovers. Or a choice of 5 dishes for vegetarians/vegans. 

Pre-Prepared

Slow Cooked Hamlyns Oatmeal Porridge made with full fat milk.

Our own recipe Bircher Muesli – maybe better known as overnight soaked oats.  A mix of 10 dry ingredients stirred through yoghurt and apple juice on a bed of mixed berries.  

Please let us know if you’d prefer either made with non dairy.

Please advise at the time of booking if you would like a Vegetarian or Vegan Breakfast, this allows us time to shop further afield as not all items can be bought in our local CoOp.  

All breakfasts are accompanied by a pot of tea, cafetiere of coffee or a hot chocolate, toast, butter, jam and marmalade.

Occasionally we may have to substitute some items from our menu due to availability.

We are delighted to have achieved Visit Scotland’s “Taste our Best” accreditation as recognition of our sourcing policy and the quality food we provide.

We take pride in using quality produce and showcasing some of the best local and Scottish Food producers in the breakfast we prepare. Scotland’s food comes from unspoilt habitats and varied weather, which are perfect for producing a wide variety of high quality fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, meat and much more.

Seafood

Loch Fyne Kippers* are bought from our fishmonger in either Oban or Fort Wiliam. We buy these by the stone and we then freeze them individually.

The smoked salmon comes from Wester Ross Fisheries and is smoked by Letterfinlay.

The smoked haddock comes from our fishmonger in Fort William.

Fruit and Vegetables

  • Tomatoes and mushrooms are Scottish when in season and available.

Dairy and Eggs

  • Scottish large free range eggs (Letterfinlay or local supermarket)
  • Various Scottish butters used for sauteing mushrooms
  • Butter Portions (Letterfinlay)
  • Grahams Family Dairies Yoghurts (Letterfinlay)
  • Scottish Milk

Preserves

Mackays Jams and Marmalades which are made in Dundee.

Other

Hamlyn’s Oatmeal, which uses Scottish Oats.**
Ingredients for the Bircher are bought on line from Healthy Supplies.
Other items like bread, fruit and cereals are bought in the local supermarkets.
* Kippers are whole herring, split in the middle and opened out, salted and cold smoked on the bone.

Letterfinlay mentioned several times above is a family business in Fort William. They deliver to us twice a week which helps us reduce our carbon footprint and the need to freeze items.

If you have any allergies please let us know at time of booking so we can make a note in the diary. Please also check with us each day in case we have had to use any alternative products which aren’t listed below.

As we buy different breads, cereals, yoghurts etc, please check with us on a daily basis if you require information on these items.

Hamlyns Oatmeal Oatmeal porridge made with milk (please ask if you would like this made with water or a dairy alternative. Please advise in advance). May contain traces of gluten.

Letterfinlay Cranberry and Pecan Muesli – Jumbo Oats, Rye Flakes, Pecan Nuts

Letterfinlay Blueberry and Cornflower Muesli – Jumbo Oats, Rye Flakes, Sultanas (vegetable oil), Raisins (vegetable oil), Blueberry (sugar, vegetable oil), Banana Chips (bananas, Coconut Oil, Refine Cane Sugar, Banana Flavour), Cornflower Petals. The Muesli is mixed by our supplier so may contain traces of gluten.

Fern Villa’s Bircher Muesli – Oats, Barley, Spelt, Oat Bran, Pumpkin Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Apple Juice, Yoghurt, Raisins, Sultanas, Cranberries
(There are warnings on some of the packets that they may contain traces of Nuts, Celery, Mustard or Sesame Seeds and some are packed in a factory which also handles nuts, soya and sesame).
