Looking down Glencoe Lochan to Beinn a Bheither

Glencoe Lochan, Glencoe Village

A 5 mile plus walk, but if you don't want to walk so far you can park your car in the Lochan car park. Walk up to Glencoe village and just over the bridge is a left hand turning into the Glencoe House Estate/Forestry Commission. The story goes that Lord Strathcona had the lochan and surrounding land designed to look like Canada for his homesick wife. There are 3 walks, 1 on the level around the lochan which is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, 2 other paths take you up into the trees but not too high. On a still day the Pap of Glencoe is reflected in the water. Although the photo below shows part of the Ballachulish Horseshoe.
