Well the weather gods weren’t particularly kind to us this week, while England baked in 30+ degrees heat we dodged some showers and had to wear a cardi. However it didn’t prevent us from having a wonderful time each and every day and we have made some lovely memories. I think if we had had the heat it would have made some of our trips uncomfortable and we probably wouldn’t have had as good sitings of the White-Tailed Eagles and Black-Throated Divers as we did.
We count ourselves very lucky to live in such a wonderful and diverse part of the world. And there’s still so much more to see.
We now have a new Bucket List created from our Wedding Anniversary Adventures but this time round I think we will just grab the days out when we can.
- Continue the drive down the East side of Loch Awe from Eredine on the B840 joining the A816 and heading northward to Oban. There were some beautiful tree lined roads so this would be particularly pretty in the Autumn when the trees are changing colour.
- Killin and the Falls of Dochart
- Fortingall to see the thatched cottages we missed
- A drive down Glen Lyon. A lot of history and stunning scenery.
- Definitely would need to pop back into Iain Burnett’s Chocolatier!
- Kelvingrove Museum again
- Loch Shiel Cruise again
- Clan Cameron Museum again, especially for the walks
- West Highland Museum again
- Slate Museum at Ellenabeich but not on a Saturday!
- Boat trip to the Corryvreckan whirlpool from Ellenabeich
- Rebook the 3 Island Tour for June/July.
We hope our travels may have given you some inspiration for your next Scottish holiday wherever you may be based, but all are possible from Fern Villa Guest House
