Following the easing of some restrictions in Scotland we would like to advise that the following still apply :
- Please wear a face covering while moving around Fern Villa, once you are seated you can remove it.
- Please register with the NHS Test and Protect poster on arrival which you will find in the porch and on the kitchen door. You will need to open the camera on your phone and hold this up to QR Code, you don’t have to take a picture, a link will appear above the image which you can tap and log your details. Don’t forget to check out when you leave.
Although there is no longer a social distance rule please be conscious that other guests might wish to keep a bit of a distance from you.
We will be keeping some of the other restrictions is place until we are happy to relax them.
Prior to your stay we will email you an on-line registration form for you to complete and return.
We have installed a wall mounted hand-sanitiser unit in the hall, please use this when coming into the house and when going out.
Please remove outdoor footwear in the porch. We can give you a box to pop them in if required.
We would prefer contactless payment and will send you details of how to pay by BACS prior to your arrival. However, if you prefer to pay by cash or to use the card machine which will be sterilised before and after use, this will be fine.
In your bedroom we request that all bin bags are tied and that the window is left open.
Keys should be placed in the room door on departure.
We have removed the Guest Information folder from our bedrooms and we will send you a link to our digital Guidebook before your stay.
We have removed scatter cushions, throws and blankets. If you would like an additional blanket please let us know and we will deliver it to your bedroom door.
Please bring your own toiletries with you. If you have travel bottles we will be happy to top these up for you with Highland Soap Co. products:

We will provide antibacterial hand washing soap.
Please ask if you require a hairdryer.
Please leave the window open as often as you can, especially when you go out for the day.
For best practice we will not enter your room during your stay. If you require a bin change please tie a knot in your bin bags and leave outside your door between 9am and 11am. If a towel change is required please inform us at breakfast so we can provide you with a bin bag to put them in, please tie up the bin bag and leave outside your door between 9am and 11am. We will knock on your door with clean towels and bin bags. We will leave antibacterial wipes in the bathroom for you to wipe it round if you wish.
If a maintenance visit is needed this will be arranged when you are out of the property where possible unless it is an emergency.
Please be conscious of social distancing if other guests are also using the Lounge.
We will continue with 2 breakfast sittings 7.30am – 8.15am and 8.30am – 9.15am. If the first sitting is chosen we will need you to vacate the breakfast room by 8.15am to give us enough time to sterilise all surfaces before the second sitting.
There will be no self-service counter but items can be pre-ordered. All food and drinks will be brought to your table.

Please be assured we are following detailed government and industry guidelines on cleaning protocol to protect our guests and ourselves and are happy to provide full details on cleaning policies on request.
In brief all surfaces and items in the common areas will be washed down with soapy water before being sterilised on a daily basis. Surfaces that are touched more regularly e.g. the bannister will be done more often. Hard surfaces and soft furnishings are steam cleaned on a regular basis.
All guest rooms are cleaned, sanitised and sealed before guest arrival.
All sanitising stations will be cleaned and stocked daily.
It is requested that guests go out for the day by 11.00am in order that we can safely clean and sterilise the house.
Bedding and towels will be washed at the top temperature recommended by the manufacturer.
We have removed all the local information leaflets. There will be a poster displayed showing which leaflets we have, and you can request a copy from us. There is also a QR code you can scan to download the leaflets to your phone.
It is advisable to book a table in advance as it can get very busy. There is a takeaway Fish and Chip shop, you are welcome to bring these back into the house and we will set a table up for you in the Breakfast Room.
Please do not travel to us if:
- You are exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19
- You have been tested positive for Covid-19 within the last 14 days
- You are self-isolating for symptomatic reasons
- You have knowingly been in contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid-19 during the previous 14 days
- Are part of the ‘Test and Trace’ NHS system
- You are from a Tier/Country where travel is not recommended
